Matthew Mortimer-Wang

Matthew advocates and advises on legal issues that have a public law dimension. His practice spans judicial review, professional disciplinary law, criminal law, commercial disputes involving the exercise of state power, and all points in between.

He spent ten years working for the Office of the Chief Coroner, Meredith Connell, and the Crown Law Office. Now he uses those skills for private clients, as well as continuing to act for and advise the Crown and government regulators.

Matthew specialises in:

  • Public law and civil litigation involving the Crown and other public entities, including judicial review.
  • Professional disciplinary proceedings.
  • Coronial inquiries and inquests.
  • Criminal appellate work.

Matthew is also:

  • General editor of LexisNexis’ New Zealand Administrative Reports, a report series about public law.
